The official stage of COMGUILD 2016.

     Several TV and News personalities as well as programs received honors at the 11th COMGUILD Conference held at the Henry Lee Erwin Theater in Ateneo de Manila University on Sunday, September 4, 2016.  Representatives from various schools, universities and colleges together with the president of COMGUILD, Mrs. Jennifer Cruz gave trophies to the winners as recognition for their works. Some of the recognizable networks present were Global Media Arts (GMA), Alto Broadcasting System-Chronicle Broadcasting Network (ABS-CBN) and TV5.

Mr. Raffy Santos reminds that journalists shouldn’t forget their responsibilities as it’s the only thing that differs them form an ordinary cellphone/camera owner.

     Mr. PJ Lanot and Bernadette Reyes hosted the morning session of the seminar. Cruz welcomed and acknowledged all the participants from different schools around the country. Mr. Raffy Santos, senior correspondent of ABS-CBN News and Public Affairs shared his life story and his journey to success. Mr. Pocholo Gozales “The Voice Master of the Philippines” was also present in the event. Mr. Lourd de Veyra also gave an inspirational speech. One of the highlights of the event was the acceptance speech of Mrs. Mel Tiangco. She emphasized the importance of truth, honesty and integrity in public service.

     The crowd went wild as the COMGUILD media awards started. A lot of well known- journalists and TV personalities were present such as Mr. Ted Failon, Mr. Raffy Tima, Mr. Atom Araulo, Mrs. Mariz Umali, Mr. John S. Gemperle, popular as “Papa Jack” and Ms. Gretchen Ho.

     COMGUILD is known for its annual seminars, trainings and workshops. It is mostly focused on sppech, writing and journalism. Everyone can join COMGUILD; students, professors or teachers and those who want to hone their communication skills. It was founded on August 2001 and still standing strong, continuously teaching and developing the minds of various communication students throughout the world for 15 years.
